Do We Need Natural Sleep Aid for Children?

By the time kids are 5 or 6 years of age, many of the sleep issues of early childhood have all however vanished. Sadly, it’s usually tougher to get them into bed at a good hour. Sleeping is different from person to person by age. National Sleep Foundation provides a simple guidelines and recommend number of hours of sleep people need by age (*including naps):

INFANTS

  • (0 to 2 months)…………..……. 10-1/2 to 18 hours*
  • (2-12 months)………………….. 14 to 15 hours*

TODDLERS/CHILDREN

  • (12-18 months)…………………  13 to 15 hours*
  • (18 months-3 years)…………   12 to 14 hours*
  • (3-5 years) ……………………….  11 to 13 hours*
  • (5-12 years) ……………………..   9 to 11 hours

ADOLESCENTS……………………….  8-1/2 to 9-1/2 hours

ADULTS……………………………………  7 to 9 hours
